Historic Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Columbia, SC
Located in the Shandon Community of Columbia, SC, Bethel A.M.E. Church has a rich and diverse history spanning over 143 years. Coinciding with the physical move from its former downtown location to 819 Woodrow Street came, Bethel has experienced a renaissance. Its growth is seen in every way, from increased membership, to stewardship growth, and beyond. Aspiring to�meet the needs of its community Bethel employs more than fifty full and part-time employees, and houses many ministries, including: our Child Development Center, Bethel Christian Academy, After School Program, CaBrailsong School of Vocal Arts, The Renaissance Foundation, and Interfaith Community Services of South Carolina. Through inspiring singing and dancing, insightful teaching, soul stirring preaching, power-packed seminars, bible studies, retreats, and revivals we are vigilantly on a mission to equip disciples. Bethel is a Christ-Centered, People-Oriented, Word- Teaching Ministry.
Bethel Learning Centers
Bethel Learning Centers are schools of academic excellence, with caring experienced teachers and consistently high achievement among students. At Bethel we nurture�the entire child: mind, body, and spirit. Our�Bible-based curriculum emphasizes academics, cultural enrichment, and a spiritual foundation...something our children need more than ever!
Established in 1995, we started with one student, and now have more than 300 children�enrolled in our centers:
�Child Development Center� (Age 8 weeks to K-4)
�Christian Academy, A SCISA accredited school (K-5 through 5th grade)
�Afterschool Educational Excellence Program
�Bethel Kids University (Summer Camp)
